A group of friendly run leaders who are here to support you if you ever need to talk or raise a concern. If you meet us on one of our runs, please say hello!
Hiya, I'm Rob and I'm the Lead Welfare Officer for the club - it's nice to meet you!
I've been running with Levenshulme Runners since 2020 and have always found it friendly, relaxed and inclusive group - so much so that I have ended up joining the committee to try to carry that spirit onwards. I tend to run with the 22.5 and 25min groups as well as the cross country teams and improver sessions and I'm always happy to chat.
Hey! I'm Jenny and I have been part of Levenshulme Runners since 2023 after starting my running adventures in 2017. I have been to my fair share of run clubs, but Levenshulme Runners really stood out as a welcoming, diverse and inclusive group of people who are always supporting and up for a laugh!
Exercise for me has become a massive focus in recent years - purely because it helps my mindset so much. After a run I always feel mentally lighter and brighter, proud of what I have achieved, and will look at things from a different perspective.
I am always open for a chat, or to be that silent partner motivating you along your run!
I’ve been running with LR for the last few years, joining the club pretty much as soon as I moved to Levenshulme. It quickly became a huge part of my life, both in terms of actual running but also making friends and helping me settle into the area. I have always found the club/its members incredibly supportive and want to be able to support our members in whatever way they need.
You can find me leading the 30min or 32.5min Wednesday 5ks as well as the Monday Improver Sessions. I also enjoy going on the club trail runs (or walks if my ankles aren’t up to it!) as I love getting out to explore the nearby countryside.
Hi everyone, I’ve been involved in Levenshulme Runners for several years now as an ongoing run leader and the former Club Chair so would like to believe I have a good understanding of the club and our values!
If we haven’t met already, please do come and say hello as I’d really welcome hearing any thoughts, concerns or recommendations you may have for how we can improve what we’re doing and most importantly keep it safe and enjoyable for everyone involved!
I’ve lived in Levenshulme for more than 20 years and am a science teacher at a local school. I generally run in the 25 or 27.5min pace groups but I also love doing longer runs or even doing a bit of cross-country if the weather is good. I am passionate about the benefits of running for mental health.
I’m Lianne and I’ve been running with Levenshulme Runners since the first lockdown. The club’s Strava Leaderboard helped keep me going!
Levenshulme Runners is very important to me and I have made so many friends and got involved in things that I never would have imagined (like cross country!). I regularly lead the 27.5 and 30min 5k groups, as well as our 10ks. Please do say hello and feel free to talk to me if you have something you’d like to share.
Hey! I'm Grace and have been part of Levy Runners for the past couple of years. The thought of running used to be wildly outside of my comfort zone, but the weekly club run has now become the highlight of my week.
Levy Runners helped me find my feet at a time when I was facing a lot of challenges in my life. I have met and made the most inspiring and encouraging friends!
I can often be found leading the 30 min 5k group, or nattering over a pint at the post-run socials. I love meeting new people so come and say hello. I'm always here for a chat.
Hi, I’m Josh and joined Levenshulme Runners in May 2023. After recovering from a serious back injury I decided to take up running (despite my constant protests that I never would!) to help keep myself fit and help encourage a healthier lifestyle. I’ve since fallen in love with it, particularly trail running and Levy Runners has played a massive part in that.
Having experienced first hand the incredible physical and mental benefits running can have I volunteered to be a part of the wellbeing network to share that experience and help support others in their own journey.
You can find me leading the 30s and 32.5s on a Wednesday, at Cross Country or at any of our trail runs! Please feel free to come and say hi!
I’ve been a member of Levenshulme Runners for two and a half years now. I started running as I was coming out of several years of very poor mental and physical health. Since then there’s been several very big scary changes in my life, and through it all Levy Runners has been a constant, keeping me going on evenings when my greatest achievement was just getting shoes on and leaving the house.
Through Levenshulme Runners I’ve achieved goals I thought I never would, my fitness has increased and along with those confidence in myself and my body. Most importantly, it’s given me a group of people I see regularly with a shared interest that I know are there to support me and cheer me on.
It’s important to me that other people feel safe and encouraged when they run with us like I do. I’ll always do my best to make sure people feel comfortable and accepted here, and if I can help by listening or talking (or being told, shush, no talking), I’m happy to do that. Running is great for mental health, running with good people doubly so!
I started running in 2017 and found LR in Jan 2022. I was struggling physically and mentally whilst training for my 1st marathon whilst recovering from the effects of bi-lateral pneumonia.
My first 5k with them took me 50 minutes and the support I received was phenomenal. 4 months later I completed the marathon and couldn't have done it without the amazing run leaders and members encouragement.
Now you'll usually find me in the 35 or 40+ min groups, either leading or offering support and encouragement, and always ready to lend an ear or have a natter.
I’m Cat and I’ve been running for around 10 years and with Levenshulme Runners for 2-3 years.
I wanted to become part of the wellbeing network because I think it’s important to have people to reach out to in a community.
Running is an important part of my life so it feels great to be able to help others find their place in the world of running.
Hey I'm Gareth, I've been part of the Levenshulme Runners family since 2023.
I only took up running just over a year ago and have felt really at home in this warm & supportive club. I've made so many friends, the Weds run is the highlight of my week!
As someone who came to running later in life and grew to realise the benefit to my physical & mental wellbeing I'm passionate about supporting those looking to embark on the same journey.
You normally find me in the 32.5, 35 or 40 minute group. I'm a run leader, mental health champion & a member of the committee.
Looking forward to meeting you!
If you'd like to be a part of the Levenshulme Runners Welfare Network, please reach out to one of our Welfare Officers, Rob and Jenny.
